Born on Third Base #2

I enjoyed the many stories of the author's encounters with different people and how he applies each one to the point he is trying to make. Although sometimes it gets a little out of hand.

I feel like he sometimes compares the rich to tyrants, which I am not sure is the best way to get them to cooperate. For example, when he is talking about charity and foundations. He talks about the organizations as a way to hide from taxes, which paints a picture of the rich as selfish money hoarders, who only give so they can take more. I am not saying they are not hiding from taxes, or that their true intentions are to help, I am just saying it feels like there is big resentment. Instead of trying to show them a better way without being mean, he is just criticizing them. I am not rich, nor do I know anyone that rich, but I refuse to think that everyone has bad and selfish intentions.

  1. I agree with your comment about the comparison to the Rich, insulting people is probably not the best way to get them to cooperate with each other. Overall I thought it was good but he definitely made some reaches

  2. I totally agree with you and really appreciate that you introduce us a counterargument about the Collins's concept. I like his ideas but it is also good to see different opinions from you. Also, the charity and foundation part of the book is pretty interesting to thing deeper.
